Popular image editor Pixelmator has been updated today with a whole host of new features, fixes, and improvements. First on the list is something many users (myself included!) have been hoping to see for quite a while now: full support for Apple’s pinch-to-zoom gesture. The update also makes the Shapes, Gradients, and Styles palettes capable of scrolling and being resized. There are also a ton of smaller improvements in the update, such as fixes for missing scrollbars, control-click functionality, minimizing by double-clicking the title bar, and more....

After launching a game service and Apple TV app integration, popular media platform Plex is out today with the news that it has raised $50 million in funding to advance its goal to become the top content platform on the market. Plex announced the news in a press release and blog post: Plex’s big picture goal is to “give people a single pane of glass for their entire universe of media” and with the latest round of $50 million funding, the company will be using roughly $15 million to advance its work and the other ~$35 million to “purchase shares and options from employees and shareholders....

PayPal is releasing an updated iPhone app today that on top of introducing a redesign for iOS 7 also introduces a few new features. Apple’s flagship 5th Avenue retail store has been undergoing renovations all year, and today Gothamist has shared an eery shot from above the scaffolding that shows the iconic glass cube totally removed. We learned last month that Apple was granted a permit to fully remove the existing glass structure as it plans to replace it for the third time. The job to remove the gigantic glass structure was valued at $2 million, according to the permit granted by the city, while we learned that a new glass cube with similar dimensions will replace it....
