When Marvel announced phase three of the Cinematic Universe, there was a ton of excitement for the stories that were chosen. Among these included the introduction of Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Inhumans, and Captain Marvel, as well as new installments in pre-existing series like Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Thor: Ragnarok. Ending the timeline for phase three are two new Avengers movies, the first of which is Avengers: Infinity War.

Ever since that announcement, the big discussion among fans has surrounded the cast. Recently, the ensemble has continued to grow with members of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast (Zoe Saldana and Karen Gillan) officially confirming their involvement. Of course, Infinity War is going to introduce some new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that topic has generated much discussion. Most recently, the potential involvement of Peter Dinklage has stirred up some speculation.

Dinklage’s recent talks about joining Infinity Wars have gotten fans fired up with theories. Discussions of who he looks like and who he would be good at playing have been popping up all over the internet for days, and now there might be a clue. The Daily Mail released some pictures of Dinklage in a hair salon, getting his light brown hair dyed a fiery red. And Comic Book suggested one character based on those pictures, who has red hair and fits into the Infinity War story: Pip the Troll.

In the comics, Pip was a prince from the planet Laxidazia who was transformed into a troll. He was an antagonist for Adam Warlock, who was a major player in the comics that revolved around the infinity stones, and also has some history with established villain Thanos. Thanos has of course been seen in numerous Marvel films as Infinity War has been set up, and a cocoon encasing Adam Warlock has been seen twice in The Collector’s museum. With them already established, bringing Pip into the film makes a lot of sense.

While the red hair does make Pip seem the likely choice for Dinklage to play, there have been several other theories. One popular theory is MODOK, based off comments by writer Christopher Markus. Another popular theory is The Watcher, and yet another is Eitri.

One other fact that might make Pip one of the more likely choices is height. Dinklage is 4’ 5" and sometimes plays roles that are specific to his stature, such as his characters in Game of Thrones, Elf, and The Station Agent. That is not always the case however. The characters he’s played in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Pixels for example, did not need to be any particular height. So Pip’s stature is not evidence, though it could certainly be a factor.
