Plex Cloud Exits Beta Lets You Instantly Create A Media Server Using Dropbox And Other Storage Services

Last fall Plex introduced its new Plex Cloud feature as an invite-only beta for some users. After four months of development and testing, Plex shared today that it’s finally ready to officially launch Plex Cloud to the public.

Plex Cloud is a premium feature available through a Plex Pass subscription. Plex Cloud lets you connect your account to existing cloud storage services including Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive personal accounts to create an always-on Plex Media Server run from the cloud.

This lets you enjoy the benefits of Plex’s services without having to rely on a dedicated desktop computer or network attached storage. Plex Cloud as a media server supports movies, TV shows, photos, and other media uploads for access anywhere.

Plex Pass plans start at $4.99/month and range to $119.99 (reg. $149.99) for lifetime access.
