Pokémon Go recently introduced second-generation characters to the mobile game through egg hatching, and now an in-game event starting Christmas morning will make acquiring those new Pokémon much easier. Pokémon Go is also doing an in-game event starting on New Year’s Eve to increase your chances of catching starter Pokémon…

Here’s what Niantic says to expect starting Sunday:

Wild Pikachu wearing Santa hats will also be sticking around for a little while longer as part of the holiday event.

As the Christmas event wraps up, Pokémon Go is kicking off a New Year’s event as well that will make catching starter Pokémon and their evolutions more frequent.

The latest Pokémon Go holiday event follows the launch of the game’s new Apple Watch app which lets you easily interact with game during outdoor walks.

Niantic has been using other holidays to promote gameplay recently too with similar promotions during Thanksgiving and Halloween.

Pokémon Go also has a new partnership with Sprint and Starbucks (which offers a Pokémon Go frap) to create new PokéStops and promote the game. Pokémon Go is available for free on the App Store.
