Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Alcremie has over 65 forms. Here’s a guide to get every version of Milcery’s evolution. Pokemon Sword and Shield have brought a new generation of Pokemon with the Galar region. Dozens of new Pokemon and new regent variations of older Pokemon called “Galarian Forms” fill up the newest Pokedex. Within the Pokemon series, evolution has played a key role in making the trainers Pokemon stronger. As the generations have gone by, new and interesting ways have developed in evolving Pokemon (aside from just leveling up the trainers’ monsters or using an evolutionary stone). For example, introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver, Eevee evolved to either Umbreon and Espeon based on their relationship with their trainer and what time of day it was. In Pokemon X and Y, the Dark/Psychic Pokemon Inkay evolved into Malamar by raising it to level 30 and physically holding the 3DS upside down. These methods of strange evolutionary methods continue with Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Milcery.

Milcery is one of the newest additions to the world of Pokemon. This Fairy-type Pokemon evolves into Alcremie, another new Pokemon with more forms than any other Pokemon to ever exist. Alcremie even surpasses the Pokemon God itself, Arceus, with its 18 forms while Alcremie has over 63 (Over 70 if players are counting the shiny variants). Each color variant has a specific way to achieve it. Small changes like the type of the fruit in its hair and the color of its frosting. This guide will show how to get each version of Alcremie.

Where To Find Milcery in Pokemon Sword and Shield

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, players can find Alcremie’s pre-evolution Milcery in two different locations. Earlier in the game, players can find Milcery on Route 4 and later in the game players can find Milcery only in heavy fog in Bridge Fields or in the Giant’s Mirror location in the Wild Area. Milcery is not a Pokemon that spawns in the overworld. In order to find Milcery, players must find the exclamation points in the grass and run into them. Milcery may take a while, as its spawn rate is only 20%. After some attempts, the player will be able to find Milcery.

How To Find The Sweets To Evolve Milcery in Pokemon Sword and Shield

There are 9 different versions of Alcremie. Each version has 7 of its own forms. The 7 forms consist of Strawberry, Berry, Star, Clover, Ribbon, Love, and Flower. Players can find each sweet in three Battle Cafes around the Galar Region, Motostoke, Wyndon, and Hammerlocke. Inside each Battle Cafe, players can challenge the cafe owner only once a day. When the player is victorious, they will be given a random sweet from the cafe owner. Obtaining a specific sweet may take players a few attempts. Attach the specific Sweet the player wants to their Milcery to get it in its hair for its evolution. Although, attaching the item isn’t the only thing players have to do in order to evolve Milcery. There are specific button movements players have to input in order to get a different version. Strawberry, Love, Clover, Berry, and Flower are attainable at the Battle Cafes but Star and Ribbon can only be found in another way.

How To Get Star Sweet and Ribbon Sweet To Evolve Milcery in Pokemon Sword and Shield

These two sweets can be obtained during Milcery Max Raid Battles in the Wild Area. Milcery raids have started appearing more frequently from January 30th to February 16th. During these raids, players can also get a Milcery with the Gigantamax Factor, allowing the Alcremie to access its Gigantamax form during battle. Milcery during this time can be difficult, as its a five-star raid. Make sure to bring a poison type or a steel type Pokemon to take it down, as fairy type Pokemon are weak to poison and steel. The AI can be unreliable for raid battles, so if the player can, playing with friends makes the experience much easier and enjoyable. After defeating it, the Star Sweet or Ribbon Sweet item will appear as a reward. It may take a few attempts to get the correct sweet.

Rotating The Control Stick To Evolve Milcery in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Milcery has a very unique way of evolution. On top of holding the sweet to get Alcremie, the player must rotate their control stick a certain way to get the specific color the player wants. The player must also spin a certain way during a specific time of day, daytime, nighttime, and dusk. Players can also change the in-game time by changing the time on the Nintendo Switch’s console settings. The held item will appear as its decoration on its hair. The player must select the proper sweet of their choosing. Here is how the player can get specific colors.

  • Vanilla Cream: Spin clockwise during the day quickly. Matcha Cream: Spin clockwise during the night quickly. Lemon Cream: Spin clockwise for more than 5 seconds at night. Ruby Swirl: Spin counterclockwise for over 5 seconds during the day Ruby Cream: Spin counterclockwise quickly during the day Caramel Swirl: Spin clockwise for more than 5 seconds during the day Rainbow Swirl: Spin counterclockwise for more than 5 seconds at dusk. Mint Cream: Spin counterclockwise for more than 5 seconds at night. Salted Cream: Spin counterclockwise at night quickly.

This leads to a grand total of 63 different variations of Alcremie.

Attempting to collect every single variant of Alcremie will prove to be a difficult and long task for those who plan to have every version of every Pokemon for their National Dex. While Pokemon Sword and Shield do not contain its own in-game National Dex, the upcoming Pokemon Home plans to keep track of all these different variants of Pokemon from generations in the past. Pokemon Home is a subscription service that allows trainers to keep track of their Pokemon all in one, single location. While it is unknown if Alcremie will contain all of its forms in this service, if true, it will prove to be a challenge for those who want to catch them all.
